Re-Run #26, From 10 OCT 10, Libertarian Shane Bruce Reviews the Nolan Chart Results at Atlanta's Gay Pride Festival

The Nolan Chart tells the story.

I wonder where republican Ralph Hudgens and democrat Mary Squires would land on it?

Remember to vote for Libertarian Shane Bruce for Commissioner of Insurance on Tuesday.

Re-Run #25 From 10 OCT 10, Libertarians John Monds, Chuck Donovan and Shane Bruce Politickin' at the Atlanta Pride Festival

Yep, we're looking for democrat Mary Squires and republican Ralph Hudgens but we're not finding 'em.

Shocker, huh?

The solution? Vote the Libertarian ticket on Nov 2nd, you'll be glad you did.

Re-Run #24, From 10 OCT 10, Libertarians John Monds, Dan Barber and Shane Bruce Politickin' at Atlanta's Gay Pride Festival

One event, 5 statewide candidates.

Top that republicans. match that democrats.

Remember who showed up and Vote the Libertarian Ticket  election day!

Oops, forgot to mention democrat Mary Squires and republican Ralph Hudgens.

Re-Run #23, From 10 OCT 10, Libertarian Shane Bruce at Atlanta's Gay Pride Parade

It was a party.

Without doubt Atlanta's Gay Pride Parade was the largest event I attended as a candidate this year. The environment was truly epic and provided epic settings for the following four videos. The rest are stashed over at the Bludgeon & Skewer YouTube channel if you'd care to see them.

It amazes me to think that our states democrat and republican politicians turned a cold shoulder to these citizens and voters of Georgia. I know that the Libertarians were the only political party there because we looked high and low for Nathan Deal, Roy Barnes, Casey Cagle, Carol Porter, Johnny Isakson, Mike Thurmond and all the rest. Not even democrat Mary Squires or republican Ralph Hudgens showed up.

If you missed it this year, be there next year because it's something to see.

Re-Run #22, From 3 OCT 10, Libertarian Shane Bruce at the GPB College Debate featuring John Monds

What do I want for Christmas?

I want Libertarian John Monds to pull 20% +1 of the vote in the general election and free the Libertarian Party from Georgia's 1943 Jim Crow Ballot Access Laws.

And a pony.

I don't think democrat Mary Squires or republican Ralph Hudgens have an opinion on that.

Vote the Libertarian ticket this Nov 2nd.

The GPB Debates are over, The Libertarian Video Tsunami Rolls On! From 29 SEPT 10, Libertarian Shane Bruce discusses the concept of Cancer Survivor Co Ops

Are cancer Co-Opts a viable solution?

There's at least one Georgia voter who wants to know. Make that two as I'd like to know as well. One of the few things my opponents agree on is that conventional health insurance cannot profit from cancer survivors. As a result they get consigned to the health care gulags under the oh so nice description of "pre-existing conditions" and get hung out to dry. Not very American.

I just heard that the state of Georgia cut our health insurance providers a $250 Million dollar tax break in the last session of the general assembly courtesy of tonights Governor's debate on GPB. Who's looking out for the needs of Georgia's citizens? Who's working on a ideas that might benefit the estimated 1 million Georgians who fall under the "pre-existing conditions" label.

As far as I can tell it ain't democrat Mary Squires or republican Ralph Hudgens.

Re-Run #18, #19 and #20, From 25 SEPT 10, Chili Cook Off, Baby, Chili Cook Off

One event, four videos.

The Stone Mountain Chili Cook Off was the first time Libertarians Chuck Donovan, Dan Barber and Shane Bruce co-campaigned. It was a fabulous day that got started before we even got in the gate. Tons of people, hundreds of competing styles of Chili and an eagerness to talk politics.

I looked around pretty throughly and did not see any other politicians in attendance. What, democrat Mary Squires and republican Ralph Hudgens don't like chili? That's just un-american.

Vote Libertarian on 2 NOV 10! Vote for Libertarians Shane Bruce, Chuck Donovan and Dan Barber!

Re-Run #17, From 20 SEPT 10, Libertarian Shane Bruce Supporting Libertarian Don Smart at the AG Forum at Emory

Vote Smart, Baby, Vote Smart.

I saw part of my job as a Libertarian Candidate to support the rest of the Libertarian ticket whenever possible. The AG debate at Emory was a perfect example, I got a lot of fuzzy video from the event and they are all up over at the Bludgeon & Skewer YouTube channel for your edification. We Libertarians also platooned to a lot of events during the campaign like the Atlanta Pride festival.

Aside from the tea party events early in the cycle, you just did not see our republican and democrat opponents doing things as a team. It's more of an "every candidate for themselves" kind of mindset induced by an unwillingness to risk splitting campaign donations. Since us Libertarians don't get donations it's not really an issue for us.

Did democrat Mary Squires lend a hand to Mike Thurmond this cycle? Did republican Ralph Hudgens do any politikin' for Tim Echols? Inquiring minds want to know!

Libertarian Shane Bruce showed up for Don Smart, Kevin Cherry, Kira Willis, Will Costa, David Chastain and co-campaigned with John Monds, Chuck Donovan and Dan Barber. I've missed out on Dr Jim Sendelbach and that's my loss.

I want to say that there is no finer collection of Liberty loving politicians anywhere in the United Sates than here in Georgia. It has been my distinct honor and privilege to work alongside the stalwarts for Liberty through this campaign cycle.

Vote Libertarian on 2 NOV 10!

Re-Run #16, From 15 SEPT 10, Libertarian Shane Bruce Politickin' at the Package Store

No Sunday Sales has got to go.

A recurring meme in my campaign has been the lack of political choice in our current two party dominant system. Beer or Cigars, loads of choice, politics not so much. I do regret I was not getting around to doing a video shot in a local gunshop, but hey, you do what you can do.

I wonder if either of my formidable opponents drink? I never saw a reference to it during the campaign, which isn't surprising as that is one of the unspoken taboos of political campaigning. You can talk smack about your opponent but don't reveal your preferred brand of beer. I see democrat Mary Squires as a white wine and cheese sort of chick and I'll wager dollars to doughnuts that republican Ralph Hudgens is a whiskey neat kind of guy. In moderation of course.

Vote Libertarian on 2 NOV 10! Vote Shane Bruce for Commissioner of Insurance!

Re-Run #15, From Libertarian Shane Bruce Politickin' Over the Grill on Labor Day

I can still smell the sizzle.

Showing up is 50% of the gig. Getting something done for insurance consumers in Georgia is the other 50%. I wonder what democrat Mary Squires and republican  Ralph Hudgens take on the subject is?

Re-Run #14, From 4 SEPT 10, Libertarian Shane Bruce Politickin' at the Decatur BookFest

Bookfest, Baby, Bookfest.

Not a raucous time by any means. Lots of folks scouting around looking for something to read, a major change from Decatur's annual BeerFest which I missed due to work constraints. I was amazed at the seemingly high correlation between people who read books and are pissed off at their insurance providers. Then again the one thing I've learned from my personal experiment in Libertarian candidacy is that there doesn't seem to be anybody in Georgia who's happy about insurance.

My opponents and the eventual winner of the race for Commissioner of Insurance really ought to keep that in mind after the winner swears in. It's fine and dandy to have the support and the votes of the people, but there is some serious work that needs to get started on the consumer satisfaction front. I'm wondering if democrat Mary Squires is up to it and whether republican Ralph Hudgens is even aware of the issues Georgia consumers have with the status quo.

Of course you can always vote for Libertarian Shane Bruce as I do have a heads up on the issue.

Re-Run #13, From 22 AUG 10, Libertarian Shane Bruce Politickin' at the Pool

Decatur is where it's at.

If you gotta live ITP, Decatur is the place to be. It was a grueling political day topped off by a charity event sponsored by my community pool for the Atlanta Food Bank. Sure as hell beats the pants off the campaign trail Bar-B-Que's during the heat of the day.

I wonder what democrat Mary Squires listens to? She is a contemporary of mine as far as age brackets go. Grateful Dead? Men at Work? Linda Ronstadt? I think republican Ralph Hudgens has got to be a CW fan, Hall county is Hall county.

Well whatever music nation you belong to, remember that Libertarian Shane Bruce will work for your best interests as a citizen of Georgia in insurance matters. And I'll do it with a smile, maybe.

Re-Run #12, From 21 AUG 10, Libertarian Shane Bruce Politickin' at the Georgia Carry Convention

Practical, Tactical Insurance Baby.

I had a great time at this year's Georgia Carry Convention manning the LP Booth with Libertarian Kevin Cherry and his son Andrew. The Flipcam endorsement we shot of Andrew talking about his dad was a bright spot int he day and has pulled more downloads from the Bludgeon & Skewer YouTube channel that either my bit or Kevin's. That's kinda cool.

There is no political party in America that is more on board with 2nd amendment rights than Libertarians. We understand that there is a reason the founding fathers considered it second only to free speech in the newly born nation of America.

I have no idea what my opponents stance on the 2nd amendment is. I have to figure that democrat Mary Squires has left that out the race because no one introduced it as an insurance issue. I also gotta believe that republican Ralph Hudgens is pro 2nd amendment because hey, he's republican. I doubt that either of them consider it a make or break issue in this race. I do.

Remember, when trouble occurs, the police are 5, 10, 15 minutes away and your needs might be a bit more immediate than that. Having some portable, handheld, re-loadable insurance on your person might be the prudent thing to do.

Libertarian Video Tsunami Wave 3, But First a Word From Our Sponsor.

Almost Done Folks.

Wave three of the Libertarian Insurance Commissioner Video Tsunami will commence in a few moments, but first a few words from our sponsor.

Liberty. Liberty. Liberty.

When I first started transitioning from a wishy washy republican to a solid Libertarian two years ago I never even  considered doing more than supporting Libertarian candidates in Georgia. The DeKalb LP meetings were fun and full of contrast and controversies as you would expect, the candidates I provided blog support to were determined to influence the debate and worked as hard as they could to achieve victory within the frameworks of their campaigns.

It is remarkable to me that the Libertarian Party is still able to find people willing to put so much of themselves and their lives into the struggle for Liberty knowing the chances for conventional success are dim. I believe that we all still hear the bell tolling down the Appalachians from Philadelphia, that faint ringing in our ears that reminds us that a few determined individuals can affect the course of History. And so we have in Georgia.

The probable winner in my particular contest started out as a pretty solid republican with some Libertarian leanings and got even more Libertarian as the contest proceeded. That is a small victory for Liberty, he's on board with doing away with Georgia's Health Insurance Mandates and at least reducing the Health Insurance Premium Tax. Will republican Ralph Hudgens ever cross the divide of understanding that all citizens are equal no matter what their sexual orientation is? I doubt that. Will he see the light about the ethical dilemma presented by accepting campaign contributions from industry players in the Insurance field? I doubt that as well. But progress has been made towards Liberty and that will have to suffice.

There are two more days left in this contest. The field is prepared, the contestants are beginning to sprint towards the finish line and Georgian's are preparing to cast their ballots and have their say. I urge each and every one of you to consider the future on November 2nd, not the past. I encourage you to consider the positive effects that Liberty has had on our great nation and how the pursuit of Liberty can guide all of us to a better and brighter tomorrow.

Libertarian Chuck Donovan's Latest TV Commercial

Vote for Libertarian Chuck Donovan!

From the Campaign of Libertarian Dr. Jim Sendelbach

Hot outta the email box.

Libertarian Candidate for Public Service Commissioner District 2 Dr. Jim Sendelbach has sent along these observations on the state of the race.

Who will be our next Public Service Commissioner?

There’s Democratic candidate, Keith Moffett who says it’s time for diversity on the PSC.    Read everything else about him on the AJC Voter Guide.  Oh, that’s right.  He didn’t respond to the questionnaire, nor to the AARP questionnaire, nor to the League of Women Voters questionnaire.  Not very promising, Keith.

There’s Republican Tim Echols.  He started his campaign under a cloud of ethic violations.  Great start Tim – inspires a lot of confidence in your ethics.  Did you learn that skill from ethics violator Oxendine when you were his campaign manager?  Echols has great income streams from his profit-making business, his non-profit business, and services as a minister.  Wow.  He is willing to take a gigantic pay cut to “serve” the public.  Or is he?  Maybe his PSC salary is just going to be an addition to his other income.  Echols didn’t say he would give up his other jobs and his other income streams to support his wife and 7 children.

There’s Libertarian Dr. Jim Sendelbach.  He thinks the 6-year term is excessive and wants to shorten it to 2 years.  He thinks the guaranteed profit to a utility is legalized robbery of consumers.  He thinks the territorial barriers prevent free market and competition to work on behalf of the ratepayers.  He thinks a 5 male Republican commission is a formula for disaster for the consumers.  And he wants voters to vote out all of the existing commissioners because they are way too friendly with the utilities and their lobbyists.

Good luck on that platform, Dr. Jim.

I am of the opinion that Dr. Jim has just prescribed the correct medicine for the ills of the PSC as currently constituted. The citizens of Georgia have the opportunity next Tuesday to administer the dose and see what the reactions are.

You can choose Liberty over servitude and vote the Libertarian ticket or remain  economic serfs to the never ending thirst of our "Public Utilities".

Vote for Minimum Government and Maximum Freedom! Vote for Libertarian Dr Jim Sendelbach for PSC District 2!

Re-Run #11, From 12 AUG 10, Libertarian Shane Bruce on Alternative Transportation

I love Scooters.

There's nothing like an early evening scoot around the neighborhood to help set the tone for a relaxing evening. In addition to being wonderful utility vehicles their gas sipping nature makes you wonder why more things with wheels can't get 90 mpg.

I can't see democrat Mary Squires riding one, I see her more as a golf cart queen and in my minds eye republican Ralph Hudgens seems like a riding lawn mower guy.

One of the non-issue areas of the Commissioner of Insurance race is the impact that some sort of inside 285 scooter transportation net might have. It could be developed utilizing railroad rights of way and the natural stream beds that criss cross the area. If it was possible for a commuter to jump on scooter in Decatur and ride all the way to Georgia State without the hazards of street traffic we would all see a drop in rates. And an increase in Liberty.

Re-Run #10, From 25 JUL 10, Libertarian Shane Bruce Politikin' at the Junkyard

It was blazing hot.

Nuclear hot, center of the earth hot, man it was hot. But as with most of videos it was fun to do. Not that I would another one of these in 101 degree temps in full sun. No way.

I'm thinking that republican Ralph Hudgens has turned a wrench or two as a young man, not so much now. I don't think democrat Mary Squires was ever a closet grease monkey, those women are few and far between. That's just a guess on my part, not a breaking scoop fit for the 11:00PM news.

So have you ever wondered about the flotsam and jetsam generated daily on I-285? If you have just drop by your local junkyard and you'll see how all the cars end up. Even yours.

Re-Run #9, From 22 JUL 10, Libertarian Shane Bruce Politikin' at the Cigar Store

Smoke 'em if you got 'em.

It dawned on me that most political ads, in addition to being written and produced and stuff, never show a candidate in the more pedestrian settings in life. Have you ever seen a political video where the candidate was putting gas in his or her car? Have you ever run into democrat Mary Squires or republican Ralph Hudgens at Quik Trip at 6:30AM? Neither have I.

The upshot of this one is that name any commodity in the United States and you will find a bewildering array of choices. The only exception is politics, there you can get a heapin' helpin' of red or blue. Nothing in between. That's not the way it ought to be and that's why you should vote Libertarian on 2 NOV 10.

Especially Libertarian Shane Bruce for Commissioner of Insurance.

Re-Run #8, Libertarian Shane Bruce Takes to the High Seas

Any body else in a Mencken Mood?

I hereby challenge my esteemed opponents, democrat Mary Squires and republican Ralph Hudgens to a sailing contest. Given the current cool temperatures, I think we should hold the contest in Jamaica and that Ralph should fund the venture. He does have all the moola you know.

The gist of this one was one of Mary's early swipes at the rationale for my candidacy and Ralph's. Her laundry list included seeking the Commissioner's office as a stepping stone (C'mon Ralph's 67 and I'm a Libertarian, what higher office?), An attempt to flush out a political career and get some of those sweet retirement perks the boys and girls at the statehouse awarded themselves, and a rather curt comment about requiring on the job training.

I dispute the notion that any citizen needs on the job training for political office. I would support mandatory ethics classes for all sitting politicians as well as access to their end of training test scores. That would be interesting.

Re-Run # 7, From 14 JUL 10, Libertarian Shane Bruce Preaching to the Choir at the DeKalb LP Meeting

Ah the good old days.

This was yet another variation of the stump speech without a time limit. I have trouble keeping things to two minutes or less and the 30 second barrier makes me cringe. Still and all, not that bad, I'd like to see some videos from democrat Mary Squires or republican Ralph Hudgens in a similar partisan setting but there just doesn't seem to be any out there on the internet.

Libertarian Video Tsunami Wave 2 Blasts Off with a SecState Filing Fee Two Fer!

Part 2 of the wave folks.

It's a good thing the campaign is drawing to a close because even I'm getting tired of it. When you sign on with the Forlorn Hope Unit of the Libertarian Party, you know you're in for a tough slog but you really hope the results will be worth the effort. We'll all know this Tuesday.

In the meantime, I've still got some work to do to finish up the last phases of my asymmetric web based campaign. How's it going? Google Mary Squires or Ralph Hudgens and find out. I'm especially pleased with the 24 hour and one week results and am looking to keep a large results presence until Monday.

So with that I'll start the arduous process of loading another 8 or 9 flipcam videos on the blog and posting them up between now and around 10PM or so. As with yesterday, you can always hide me on FaceBook until the phase is done.

Garland Favorito's Latest Press Release on the Diebold Menace

Just in from the Hardest working single issue activist in Georgia, Garland Favorito!

Looks like the Diebold/ESS electronic voting machines are acting up again, this time in North Carolina. And it also looks like they're working against their former masters and preselecting democrats this time around. I wonder what'll happen here in Georgia on the 2nd of November.

Perhaps I should consult with the legendary Madame Zelda here in Decatur and see if there's some sort of karmic wave she could direct to help make sure our elections aren't screwed up like North Carolina, that's the kind of shenanigans you get when you absolutely, positively can not recount things like votes.

Here's Garland's Press Release:

VoterGa Supporters,

The North Carolina Republican Party filed a federal lawsuit today against the State Elections Board over vote flipping incidents reported in several counties that use ES&S Ivotronic voting machines. I spoke with the Executive Director, Russell Peck, today and he confirmed the lawsuit. Several cases were reported in several North Carolina counties where voters attempted to vote for Republican candidates but the voting machines consistently showed that they had selected Democrats. The abnormalities go beyond normal calibration errors because in several cases the candidates were pre-checked as defaults when the selection screen first appeared to the voters. Nearly identical abnormalities have already been reported in the 2010 Texas gubernatorial race and the 2010 Nevada U.S. Senate race between Majority Leader, Harry Reid, and challenger Sharron Angle. All instances occurred on ES&S Ivotronic unverifiable voting machines and all favored candidates who were Democrats in the this election cycle.

The vote flipping cases in the 2010 elections are significant because historically, most of the victims of such incidents have been Democrats rather than Republicans. Now that more Republicans are experiencing similar fates, there will be more widespread support to correct the unverifiable voting situation once and for all. If the Georgia Democratic Party had been as aggressive in protecting their voters in the 2008 Douglas County elections as the North Carolina Republican Party has been, Georgia would have been rid of this unverifiable voting equipment by now.

The letter from the North Carolina Republican party Legal Counsel to the  North Carolina State Election Board can be found on the VoterGa web site here:
NOTE: The machines used in the North Carolina counties in question are nearly identical to those used statewide to produce the infamous 2010 results in the South Carolina Senate race between Alvin Greene and Vic Rawl. Vic Rawl won the mail-in absentee vote by 55-45% and but the machines recorded a 60-40% margin for Alvin Greene. They also produced roughly 18,000 undervotes and a 15% undervote rate in the hotly contested U.S. House race between Vern Buchanan and Christine Jennings. They were vying to replace the seat vacated by former Florida Secretary of State, Katherine Harris.
Special thanks to one of our supporters, Aleq Boyle at Seaboq Political, for alerting us to the story and contributing to this report.

Re-Run #4, Libertarian Candidate for Commissioner of Insurance Shane Bruce Hangin' With The Athen's LP at Ath-Fest

I had a great time in Athens.

Music, street sights and a cornucopia of political discussion like you'll find in a college town. One thing I really, really liked was the use of the Nolan Chart. Nothing like a ten question quiz to help the citizens determine their political orientation, it's not like republican Ralph Hudgens or democrat Mary Squires have a nifty tool like that.

You know, I have a habit of giving Ralph top billing, from now on it's democrat Mary Squires and republican Ralph Hudgens. Nothing like a two-fer.

Re-Run #3, Libertarian Shane Bruce Encounters Knee Knock Syndrome at His First Tea Party

OK, this video just did not work out.

Chuck Donovan and I showed up at the Gilmer County Tea Party at the predesignated time coordinates and discovered that since most of the other candidates had not shown up yet, we would have the singular honor of speaking first. Chuck disappeared and I found myself ascending the stage sans camera operator. I stuck the flipcam on a bench hoping to at least get audio of the event only to discover at the end of my time that it had fallen over.

This video was shot by Libertarian Candidate for Superintendent of Schools Kira Willis right after I spoke as I tried to remember my remarks. I did get footage of all of our candidates at that event and they're currently parked over at the Bludgeon & Skewer YouTube Channel. The readership is encouraged to view them, link to them, download them and send them around via email and such and of course it would be nice if you voted for us as well.

Here's the complimentary mention of my opponents republican Ralph Hudgens and democrat Mary Squires.

And here's the flippy of Libertarian Candidate for Commissioner of Insurance Shane Bruce:

Re-Run #2 Wherein Libertarian Shane Bruce Establishes his 2nd Amendment Bona-Fides

I look a little heavy in this one.

That's because I was. This campaign has seen me drop 15 pounds of flab and that's a good thing. I don't how it happened, it just did.

While the issue of 2nd amendment rights and Insurance didn't come up during the campaign cycle that's no reason not to illustrate the differences between me and my esteemed opponents, republican Ralph Hudgens and democrat Mary Squires. Mary was a serving officer with the Ga National Guard and so I'm sure she qualified every year or so with her issue weapon, I have no idea as to Ralph's capabilities but I am completely, utterly, impossibly uber sure I can outshoot either one of them with any weapon known to man. Or woman.

Footrace anybody?

Re-Run #1 From The Bartow LP Meeting During the Morning of the Run To Albany

Nothing like doing a stand up presentation on the fly.

As a note of interest all of my Flipcam videos are unscripted, unrehearsed and entirely one shot deals. Sort of a capture in time of the mood and feeling of my campaign. These videos have been made by a variety of volunteers that simply said yes when I asked them to be the cameraman. That's Libertarian.

I'm proud of their work and I have to notice that republican Ralph Hudgens and Democrat Mary Squires don't have anything like them in the content sections of their websites. Leave it up to a Libertarian like Shane Bruce to pioneer the way. oops, forgot to mention Insurance Commissioner.

Here's the Bartow LP Video:

Get Ready for a Tsunami of Libertarian Political Videos

I have had a hell of a good time running for the Office of Commissioner of Insurance and here are the video's to prove it.

The readership is advised that a tsunami of Flipcam videos will be unleashed tonight as the Ghost Network celebrates day 4 of operation. Like the waves of posts about Insurance Commissioner stuff, this release is timed to dominate the Google news cycle for the next 24 hours and ensure that anybody looking for Ralph Hudgens or Mary Squires has an opportunity to examine my $19.95 campaign as well.

Sure, it's bit of an irritant for my FaceBook friends but you can always hide me, god knows I do that enough.

So, grab some popcorn and enjoy the show ! When you're done, please remember to Vote for Libertarian Candidate for Commissioner of Insurance Shane Bruce on 2 NOV 10 and the rest of the Libertarian Ticket!

Your telephone arm that is.

Down to the wire time folks. If you've never been an activist before and you'd like a limited time engagement working for a cutting edge campaign with a super cool candidate, here's your chance.

From the Donovan For Senate Campaign:

What can you do for liberty this weekend?

Dear Citizen,
Write me back right away.  There are only 3 days left until the election.  I need your help calling voters.

Did you watch the one and only debate?
I know it is a big job to be a well informed voter.  That is why I'm looking for your help getting more voters informed.  We have a phone system that allows us to directly contact "swing" voters.

We have to get Georgians to vote differently this time, or it won't turn out different this time.

Can you give the campaign some time and work from home?

Many of you have expressed a desire to help.  Using the phone system is simple and may be done from your home anywhere in the U.S.  I am asking friends and supporters to commit to make 25 phone calls.  Write me back directly to get set up immediately for 25 or more personal calls to Georgia voters.

Voters who hear my message are excited.

The last Tea Party I attended allowed me to speak for 40 minutes, including an open question and answer period.  When I finished, a man I did not know walked up to me and said he only voted for me to protest against the incumbent.  He said he didn't know me before that evening, but now that he heard me in person, he was very glad he gave me his vote.  I am sure the story could be repeated a million more times if Georgia voters had the opportunity to get full information on this race.

The media is not giving Libertarians equal coverage.

Professional journalists won't cover us because we don't win.  When voters don't hear about us they don't vote for us.  Then we don't win and the media gets its self-fulfilling prophecy.

The power elite intentionally put up roadblocks.
It's difficult for hard working, honest Americans just trying to get by, to realize there really is a ruling class that doesn't care about principles.  To established party officials, it's all about who holds onto the elected seats - nothing more.  They cannot handle open discussions about the issues.  They have been actively working to keep my message of liberty away from voters.  They know the record in Washington is indefensible.

Let's show the experts that Americans are ready for a candidate who speaks the truth, stands for liberty and fights to uphold the Constitution.

We have to get Georgians to vote differently this time, or it won't turn out different this time.

Let's not only send career politicians a strong message.  Let's send them a one-way ticket back home.

Libertarian Candidate for US Senate Chuck Donovan's Latest Press Release

Hot outta the Inbox.

The campaign offices of Donovan for Senate are a bee hive of last minute activity as the cycle draws to a close. Here's the latest from Chuck:

For Immediate Release
Chuck Donovan Shows His Full Commitment to Fiscal and Legislative Reform

ATLANTA, GA – October 28, 2010 – Chuck Donovan, Georgia’s Libertarian candidate for U.S Senate, announces his pledge to support six bills recommended by the non-partisan group DownsizeDC.org.  Tonight he published his pledge to cosponsor and to vote “Yes” for all six of the bills.

Chuck pledged his unconditional support for the following bills:  The Read the Bills Act, The One Subject at a Time Act, The Write the Laws Act, The Free Competition in Currency Act, The Enumerated Powers Act, and The Fiscal Responsibility Act.  Chuck stated, “Unfortunately, all of these bills are necessary to further restrain our out of control Federal government.  However, if there was a Libertarian Congress in place, simply following the Constitution and the moral principle of no theft would nearly accomplish the same thing.”

More information about the bills may be found at DownsizeDC.org.

Downsize DC is a nonpartisan, non-profit organization which states their mission is to establish constitutional limits, smaller government, civil liberties, federalism, and low taxes. They want to end laws and programs that don't work, and violate the Constitution. They want to restore the full force of the 9th and 10th amendments, which reserve most social functions to the people and the states.  More information on DownsizeDC.org may be found at their website.

Chuck has now signed the “No Pork Pledge”, the “Death Tax Repeal Pledge”, the “Taxpayer Protection Pledge”, the “Defund It” pledge, and now adds his pledge to the Downsize DC list of bills.  Chuck challenges other candidates to put their names and reputations on the line the way he has.

While Senator Isakson has signed the “Taxpayer Protection Pledge”, and cosponsored the Enumerated Powers Act, he has not signed the “No Pork Pledge”.

Last Re-Run for Today! From 30 SEPT 10, Democrat Mary Squires Unloads on republican Ralph Hudgens

End of the Month News Folks.

Democrat candidate for Commissioner of Insurance Mary Squires has sent out an email about yesterdays press conference down to the capital that castigated republican Ralph Hudgens for trying to limit or eliminate some of Georgia 45 health insurance mandates. It looks like that Ballou chick from Maria Sheffield's campaign might be doing some moonlighting.

As much as I hate to have to say anything positive about Huggy Bear Hudgens, I think his stance on Georgia'as 45 health care mandates is correct. In fact, I don't think he goes far enough. There is no legitimate reason for the Georgia legislature to inject itself into the medical affairs of Georgia citizens, and there sure as hell isn't any legitimate reason to compel individual citizens to pay for health care coverage that is impossible for them to use.

The focus of the press conference and the follow up email was to paint Ralph as insensitive to womens issues. The reality of our health mandates is that they force the same set of requirements on every citizen with out the citizen having any input or say so. So a single male finds that he has to pay for coverage for a whole litany of medical services that are strictly designed for females.  On the flip side, single women are paying for heath services they'll never be able to use unless and until they grow a prostrate.

The true beneficiaries of Georgia's mandate system are health care insurance providers who have maneuvered the state into passing legislation that enhances their business without costing them. If half the population is paying for pap smears every month they don't need and the other half is paying for prostrate protection that they don't need, that small slice of the premium goes right to the bottom line of the insurance company. Good business if you can get it, and brother you can get it if you buy and sell politicians.

Here's Mary Squires press release:

Subject: Take a stand for women
Today, YOU Can Stand Up for Georgia's Families

Yesterday, I stood in front of the Capitol with women from all over the State demanding Ralph Hudgens stop using women's healthcare as a scapegoat for high insurance costs.

Commenting on Georgia's 45 preventative care safeguards that insurance companies must provide Georgians, Hudgens stated, "Currently, policies must cover all 45 mandates. Those mandates cover mammograms and pap smears. I don't need those. It's like requiring customers to buy the fully-loaded Cadillac at a car dealership instead of the little Chevy they can afford."

Ralph Hudgens dares to compare basic medical procedures for women to a fully-loaded Cadillac-as though pap smears and mammograms are an outlandish and lavish status symbol. His statement is inaccurate, insensitive, and offensive. We can't get car insurance without collision protection, why should we pay for health insurance without preventative protections?

I guess this shouldn't be shocking considering he has continuously blamed women for the rising cost of healthcare throughout the campaign.

Why would we vote for an Insurance Commissioner who fights---and fights hard---to strip women of life-saving coverages?

Today you can stand up against Ralph Hudgens. By making a contribution to my campaign, you can tell Ralph, "Enough is Enough!"

Georgia needs a watchdog as Insurance Commissioner, not a lapdog who will fight to make it harder on our families. We have less than 24 hours before our next financial disclosure. A contribution of $500, $250, $100, or whatever you can afford will go a long way in our efforts to defeat Ralph.

Families should not have to fight their elected Insurance Commissioner for basic necessities. As Insurance Commissioner, I promise to be a watchdog for Georgia families.

If elected, Ralph Hudgens will do more of the same. He's fighting to make it harder on our families, and I'm fighting to protect all of us.

All my best,

Mary Squires
