The Cost of Taking a Shot At Nathan Deal's Old Seat in the US House: $5220.00

Hey Kids,

That took about 2 hours. Evidently running for Nathan Deal's old seat in the US House of Reps is the the thing to do up there in northwest Georgia. Must be a fad or something. In order to cut down on the inbound emails about the requirements for playing in the impending Special Election for the 9th US house District, the following information is provided:

You gotta be 25 years of age or older.

You have to have been a US citizen for at least 7 years.

You don't have to be a resident of Georgia when you file to run for the gig, but you have to be a resident of Georgia by the time you're elected.

The Filing Fee to qualify for the special election is $5220.00.

You can file a DOI right now and start campaigning for this dream job, but pay attention to when the SecState opens the qualifying window, you have two and a half days to get your fee paid to show up on the ballot.

So that's the nuts and bolts kids, in order for the Georgia LP to back your bid you have to be a card carrying, paid up member of the party. Hopefully you won't have a spaceship in the basement or Hitler's brain in a jar on the mantle but that's not necessarily a deal killer. If you think you have what it takes to compete as a Libertarian in this Special Election then get in touch and we'll see if it's a good fit for you and the Georgia Libertarian Party.
