US Senator Johnny Isakson is in Big Trouble

Hey Kids,

The news du jour is still Nathan "Stinky" Deal bailing out of the US house to avoid the ethics report, er... to focus on running for Governor but there are other fish in the sea with troubles as well. Republican Senator Johnny Isakson comes to mind and his trouble goes by the name of Libertarian Chuck Donovan. The guys and gals over at Public Policy Polling (PPP) just put out a poll today that reinforces the Rasmussen Poll from last week on Johnny's strength or lack thereof.

Both polls show Senator Isakson leading a generic democrat by about 13 points and both polls show Senator Isakson not breaking the 50% barrier. The Rasmussen poll paired him up against a single generic democrat while the PPP poll ran him against one generic and two named Georgia democrats and Isakson failed to break the 50% barrier against any of them. What's really interesting is that these match-up's show anywhere from 16% to 22% of the respondents didn't want either choice. Does that sound like Johnny is a shoo-in?

You would think that with the political landscape changing so rapidly in 2010 with the rise of the Tea Party, the Coffee Party, the C4l'ers and all the other assorted political movements that the polling companies might expand their options past "Some Other Candidate" or "Undecided". That won't happen until somebody other that the republicans or democrats commission a poll. Don't hold your breath on that one.

Both polls are good news for Libertarian Chuck Donovan. He's got his pipper on Senator Isakson and poor old Johnny isn't even going to check his six until it's too freakin' late. Chuck will eviscerate him in the debates and with a little bit of help from the public, hold his own in AM radio. All of you can keep track of the daily happenings out here in the Blog-O-Sphere until it's time to vote.

And when you head to the polls, remember to cast your ballot for Liberty. Vote for Smaller Government, Lower Taxes and More Freedom! Vote Libertarian Chuck Donovan for US Senate!
