Libertarian Chuck Donovan Receives Milton Friedman Fiscal Conservative Award from State of Georgia Tea Party

Hot off the presses from Doug Craig's Crazy for Liberty Blog:

Suwanee (October 11, 2010) – U.S. Senate hopeful Chuck Donovan, L-GA., is being honored as a fiscal conservative by the State of Georgia Tea Party, LLC for his strong stand on cutting the growth of government and out of control spending.  The award is given to members and prospective members of State and Federal office that commit themselves to lower taxes and reduce federal spending.

“I am very proud to receive this honor from the State of Georgia Tea Party, LLC, because I fully support  a limited government - the inspiration of our Founding Fathers.  The citizens of Georgia and small businesses are being strangled by excessive government taxation, regulation, and spending.” Donovan said. “ I recognize that the way the government is operating is not only unsustainable, it is a recipe for disaster and failure.” Donovan said.

Donovan received an “A++” rating for his pledge on behalf of taxpayers.

Since May 2010, the State of Georgia Tea Party, LLC, a grass roots Tea Party services organization, has worked to give voice to Constitutional Conservatives and fiscal Conservatives.   The organization has led a statewide movement to help elect Constitutional and fiscally responsible Conservatives.“ My experience with Tea Parties across the State has introduced me to people who are well informed about a constitutionally limited government, free markets, and fiscal responsibility.  Tea Partiers are prioritizing the things that will remake America great and I am not surprised to see them hold to principles as they reach across party lines to support the right candidates.”  Donovan said.

Donovan is committed to working to pass legislation to curb federal spending and to demand more accountability from programs that receive federal dollars. Donovan does not believe in the line-item veto, because he thinks it puts too much power in the hands of the President. “The line-item veto goes directly against the Founding Fathers insistence of separation of powers.  A better solution would be to mandate 'single issue' bills, or to vote in statesmen with the leadership to stop putting irresponsible spending on the President's desk.", Donovan said.

The State of Georgia Tea Party, LLC is proud to award Chuck Donovan our Milton Friedman Fiscal Conservative Award on behalf of the citizens of the great State of Georgia.
